Stock Futures Mixed to Start Fourth Quarter

U.S. stock futures were mixed to start the fourth quarter, with investors bracing for more volatility in the final three months of the year.

Futures for the S&P 500 edged up 0.1% Monday. U.S. stocks fell Friday, closing out a losing week, month and quarter. Contracts for the tech-focused Nasdaq-100 declined 0.3% and futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average added 0.4%.
