EU Clash Could Slash Gas Prices

The political storm brewing in Europe could have a big impact on global natural-gas prices.

Leaders of European Union countries are meeting in Prague on Friday to find a way to ease the region’s war-induced energy crisis. Officials agreed on some emergency support measures last week but are under significant pressure to do more to tame the high gas prices driving the region’s crippling energy costs. While a deal will take time to achieve, any effective measure would likely reduce the price of European-delivered natural gas, including the liquefied variety imported from the U.S. and elsewhere.
