The stakes have never been higher for Peloton Interactive Chief Executive Barry McCarthy. He has to hope his efforts don’t go from good, to better to bust.
An Oct. 6 Wall Street Journal article based on an interview with Mr. McCarthy suggested he was giving Peloton about six more months to prove itself as a viable stand-alone company. Mr. McCarthy later clarified that there is “no timeclock nipping at our heels,” adding that if his comments to the Journal suggested there could be, then he misspoke.
