Investing.com – Japan stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

The best performers of the session on the were TOTO Ltd. (TYO:), which rose 6.03% or 270.00 points to trade at 4,745.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Shiseido Co., Ltd. (TYO:) added 5.23% or 295.00 points to end at 5,933.00 and NTT Data Corp. (TYO:) was up 2.52% or 51.00 points to 2,078.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were DOWA Holdings Co., Ltd. (TYO:), which fell 14.21% or 700.00 points to trade at 4,225.00 at the close. Softbank Group Corp. (TYO:) declined 12.73% or 885.00 points to end at 6,068.00 and Olympus Corp. (TYO:) was down 10.81% or 334.50 points to 2,758.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2286 to 1304 and 212 ended unchanged.
The , which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was down 6.45% to 20.31 a new 1-month low.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.26% or 0.23 to $88.73 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.18% or 0.17 to hit $95.82 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.17% or 2.95 to trade at $1,766.45 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was up 0.41% to 139.37, while EUR/JPY rose 0.13% to 143.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.47% at 106.66.
